PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED FOR THREE STOREY OFFICE BUILDING

Drawing and Planning have secured planning permission for the erection of a three-storey office building on one of Hendon's busiest high streets. The approved scheme consists of modern construction featuring smooth facades and chic lines in an attempt to add some character and vibrancy to this part of North West London.
The successful application followed two refused applications submitted by another architectural practice, and, introduced a fresh new design approach. DAP's chief architect, Benedetto Litteri who was instrumental in the design process commented
"This project was a trail blazer in that it showed the planning authorities that architectural design can be exciting and doesn't simply need to reflect the status quo – this happens all the time in central London yet is often resisted further out".
In addition to demonstrating a bold approach to design and planning, the team at DAP were able to take on board any critique of the proposal and effectively negotiate a scheme that both fulfilled the client's brief as a commercially viable development and the Council's requirements without compromising the integral design-led ethos of the project.
In a current property climate where offices are becoming scarce due to the uptake of permitted development rights allowing the conversion of offices to residential use, the creation of 5,000 sq.ft of office space is welcomed by all parties involved including the prospective end users.
